The changing global outlook of corporate and industrial world has given a thrust to incorporate advancement in the field of commerce. In order to meet this growing demand the University has taken major initiatives in terms of programs, curriculum and students' development. The Commerce Department was set up in 2017 under the valuable directions and guidance of Prof. N.K. Taneja, Honorable Vice Chancellor, C.C.S. University.

The University has introduced under graduate program B.Com with Honors and post graduate program M.Com under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) creating a unique educational system which blends intense subject domain and knowledge along with practical skills required for enhancing employability of students, thereby distinguishing the curriculum being offered in the past for commerce graduates and post graduates by the university. The focus is to develop a versatile Student possessing a combination of academic and practical skills. We groom our students to face the challenges of the corporate world with a blend of social sensitivity. Besides the requisite commerce skills, the students also attain visionary, entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

The faculty of commerce is specialized in varied aspects of Commerce and Management like Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Management, Taxation, Corporate/Business Laws and International Business. Additionally, the department places emphasis on learning through projects, seminars and workshops proving an enabling environment to help its students stand out academically and in shaping them to an overall balanced personality both in terms of the department's vision and today's competitive environment.

About programme

The Department of Commerce offers B.Com (H) at the under graduate level. The course provides a dynamic learning environment to its students to pursue excellence, gain knowledge and acquire skills to achieve their goals. It is a 3 year (six semesters) full time programme which aims at providing comprehensive insight and specialization in Finance, Marketing, Human Management, Banking & Insurance and Entrepreneurship which play an important role in today's dynamic business environment. After completing B. Com (H) a student can go for any of the following career options:

  • Master of Commerce
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Specialized courses in: Marketing, Finance, International Business, Human Resource Development and Law
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Company Secretary and Chartered Accountancy etc.

About Programme

The Department is offering Master of Commerce from academic year 2018-19. The rigor in curriculum and pedagogy aims to bring laurels to the department with the prime objective of creating world class academic in the field of commerce and business, this change in the nomenclature of the course will very well respond to the needs of industry and administration.

Required documents at the time of Admission
  • Original and a photocopy of the certificate showing the marks obtained in the last University/Board examination.
  • Original and a photocopy of the character certificate from the Principal of the college/school last attended.
  • Original and a photocopy of Senior Secondary certificate.
  • A copy of the matriculation or other certificate evidencing the date of birth.
  • In case of students coming from other University/School, migration
    • certificate from that University/School. Please note this document in original is required at the time of admission only.
  • Three copies of a recent passport-size photograph.
  • Original and a photocopy of the Category Certificate (in case of SC, ST, OBC, PWD,)

LIBRARY

Department has a well-equipped and efficiently maintained Library with the latest books which functions as an invaluable aid to every aspiring scholar. The library presently boasts of an impressive stock of around 500 books. New books are added to the library through the course of each academic session. The Library staff is always available to assist students in finding material needed for their course work and other related pursuit.

COMPUTER LAB

Department has the facility of computer lab taking care of the changing environment focusing on the overall development of students.

SEMINAR ROOM

The department also has the facility of seminar room for encouraging creativity and fostering communication. The seminar room can seat about 100 people and is well equipped with audio-visual facilities.

University Facilities

Students have access to the Centralized Computer Lab Facility, University's library and other state-of-art Infrastructure facilities. The University's library has a vast collection of books and journals catering to different areas of specialization in commerce and business.
