21%, 2% and 27% seats in all courses are reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBC categories respectively. However, reservation of 2%, 2% and 1% will be permissible to candidates belonging to Physically Handi-capped, Dependent of Freedom Fighters and Ex-servicemen within each one the SC/ST/OBC and general category. Reservation shall be given as per the prevalent Govt. rules at the time of admission and are subject to modification by competent authority. 10% seats in each course are reserved for outside state candidates.

Not more than 10% seats in each course are to be filled by outside state candidates. However, for the programmes offered by the Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, which is a department of Special Assistance Programme (SAP-DRS) of U.G.C., not more than 20% seats are to be filled by outside state candidates. Candidates resident of Uttar Pradesh shall produce a certificate at the time of admission.

    
  Note:    
 
  1. The candidates belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes and other backward classes should attach a certificate issued/countersigned by District Magistrate of the district to which they belong on the proforma given in Annexure I.
  2. Only those candidates will be considered physically handicapped who produce a certificate issued by Chief-Medical Officer of the district, no other certificate will be entertained for this purpose.
  3. In case a candidate does not claim reservation in the application form or does not attach the relevant certificate, he/she will be treated in general category and no change would be permitted after submitting the application form.
  4. The reserved seats will be filled on merit from amongst eligible candidates of that category.
  5. In case the requisite number of eligible candidates of reserved categories do not apply for admission, the remaining reserved seats may be filled by general category candidates on merit.
