India has had a very long tradition of having excellent formal and informal institutions of academic pursuit. Modern university system has added to the proliferation of formal institutionalized learning and research in different areas of human inquisitiveness. A University is not only institution of higher learning but also a seat of systematic and scientific enquiry. Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut has, for more than forty years, been the first and foremost institution’ of higher education and research in the western part of Uttar Pradesh. With an estimated population coverage of more than 20 million, the university has the jurisdiction over seven districts of U.P. spread over 20 thousand sq. kms. The University caters to the higher education needs of 4 lakh plus students. The affiliated colleges provide conventional as well as modern professional training and education in consonance with the emerging demands of present day globalized generation.

The campus of the university is a green & eco-friendly place to provide a healthy and peaceful academic environment comprising of 22 regular and 35 self-financing departments/ courses with renowned and reputed faculty members working hard for excellence in their respective fields of specialization thus contributing to global knowledge through research publications, books and review articles for enhancing their own potential and capabilities coupled with the use of modern teaching techniques for sharing that knowledge with their students. Even with limited resources, our students and teachers have been able to achieve enviable targets and places in national and global academic fraternity of their respective disciplines. We have set newer goals for ourselves so as to achieve newer heights. This would definitely require sincerity, integrity, commitment and perseverance from all members of out campus and affiliated colleges. I wish that our university is able to transform itself into an institution of supreme excellence in near future through innovation creativity and devotion to higher values of humanism.
